Silo is a simplistic sculptural clock designed to create interesting aesthetic appeal through the use of angular hour and minute hands that play on mathematical tangential relations and triangular forms. It is not just a clock. It is a kinetic sculpture that alters its shape through time.

Silo is more than a clock, it is a compact sculpture that you can hang on your wall and stare at everyday. It changes at every instant showing you the time passing, always in anew, wonderful way.

Silo clock cast attractive shadows on the wall whilst performing gentle movements. Just like time itself this clock never feels the same every time you look at it . A beautiful piece of statement aim to portray time with a poetic sense.

Free Your Imagination

Everything you need is included in the package, all you need to do is pick a nice spot in your house and imagine how Silo could change the space. Use the clock with or without the indicating markers. Installing the markers are extremely easy, we’ve included a installation template and all the markers are self adhesive. Insert the battery, hand the clock, it’s simply that easy.

Functionality Without Compromise

We initially have the idea to design this time piece simply as a pure abstract form. During the design process we realise that indication markers not only help with readability but also transformed its visual presence greatly. The 12 precision cut smoky perspex indicating markers compliment the design language of the clock itself and produce beautiful shadows with sunlight.

A Story behind the project

The inspiration behind the design of Silo comes from a previous project by Poetic Lab called Shadow Clock that depicts time trough shadows projected on the wall.

With Silo we were looking to portray time with a poetic sense; using essential elements like thin lines and circles combined in a beautiful harmony of colours, shapes and materials.

Its name Silo comes from the sound of the word “silhouette“. We wanted to create a timepiece which is a bit indirect, using simply a vague outline to tell the concept of time.
